Redhawks capitalize on good offensive and defensive tactics, again and nearly capture an ESPN quality triple play act.
Game ball recipient was our first baseman-David Junco. Clutching up at the plate (2 for 3), batting both Right and left handed, driving-in 2 of our 8 runs, and scoring once on a past ball at the plate (heads up move). On defense, with a runner at 3rd Base, Junco helped the Hawks maintain a comfortable lead by fielding a hard hit grounder and throwing out the runner at the plate.
UB (Ubaldo), Went 2-3, and scored 2 of our 8 runs.
David Hilson, handled the opposing team well, allowing only one earned run. At the plate, he went 1-2, and scored a run.
Matt, clutches up after loading up the bases in the 5th. Took some heat off his ball and managed to get out of the inning with minimal damage.
Tim Haas (Game over kid), showed good foot work at 2nd base and carried the team on his back as he saddled up on the mound and closed the game, allowing only 1 unearned run.
The Hawks had a total of 9 players on base, scored 8 runs, leaving only one on base. Lots of offensive production.
Ironically enough, I noticed that during our first game against this team we had 10 strike outs and scored only one run.
In the end, we had only one reverse K, which says a lot about our aggressiveness at the play.
Final Score was 8-6.
